Online Presentations

Disability Support Programs & Services Websites
These sites are included for students with disabilities who are attending SDCCD classes. These links will assist students access DSPS counselors who provide academic counseling and can help identify appropriate accommodations that will assist them in their academic pursuits.

Employment Websites
The links will assist current job seekers with their immediate employment needs.

    San Diego-based website that compiles leads based upon geographic area and field of interest.

  • www.craigslist.com
    very comprehensive and user-friendly site. Make sure to select “ San Diego” on the right-hand side and the n “jobs”.

  • www.monster.com
    the premier website with announcements and a wealth of information related to job searching skills, advice and commentary.

  • www.caljobs.ca.gov
    CalJobs website. Job seekers will need to register to receive and research job leads and to post their resumes.

  • www.signonsandiego.com
    The Union Tribune’s classified employment page.

  • www.sdmesa.edu/trancareer/career_index.htm
    Mesa College’s Career Services webpage. Very comprehensive site with additional links based upon the field(s) of interest.

 

Volunteer/Internship Websites
Volunteering and interning are great ways to build work experience while attending classes. These activities are greatly encouraged by WorkAbility III staff.

 

Choosing a Career
These sites will help you determine wage information, duties, necessary abilities and the number of projected openings for job titles you are interested in.

    EDD’s site for career services.

  • http://online.onetcenter.org
    Department of Labor’s online database. Excellent site for looking up job duties, skills needed and physical requirements depending upon the job. WorkAbility III staff use this resource on a daily basis.

  • www.sandiegoatwork.com
    San Diego Workforce Partnership. Great site for looking up local Labor Market Information (LMI) and Occupational Outlook Reports.

  • www.nextsteps.org
    Excellent site for researching specific fields. This site includes an extensive list of job titles and write-ups about each field.
